Terms of Service
Effective date: 23 October 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the
Statuswalla mobile application, the website
statuswalla.com and every
related service (together, the “Service”). The Service is
owned and operated by Studx Management Private Limited,
a company incorporated in India (“Statuswalla”,
“we”, “us” or “our”).
By creating an account, buying credits, subscribing to a plan or
otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms, our
Privacy Policy and our
Refund & Cancellation Policy. If you do not
agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Who we are
Studx Management Private Limited
108, StudX, AMC Avenue, NIBM Annexe, Opp. Raheja Vistas Phase-3,
Pune, Maharashtra 411060, India
Support: support@statuswalla.com
General enquiries: contact@statuswalla.com
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding
contract under Indian law to use the Service. If you are under 18,
you may use the Service only with the involvement and verifiable
consent of a parent or lawful guardian, who accepts these Terms on
your behalf.
3. Your account
- You sign in with your mobile number, verified by a one-time password (OTP). Keep your phone and OTPs to yourself — anyone with them can access your account.
- Information you give us must be accurate and kept up to date.
- You are responsible for everything done through your account. Tell us at once at support@statuswalla.com if you believe it has been misused.
- One person may hold one account. Accounts may not be sold, rented or transferred.
4. What Statuswalla provides
Statuswalla offers a library of ready-made status images and videos
(for festivals, greetings, quotes and everyday occasions) that you
can personalise, download and share, together with AI tools that
create images and short videos from your photos, clips and text
prompts. Some templates and features are free; others need credits
or a paid subscription. What each costs is shown in the app before
you pay.
AI generation is performed by third-party AI models. Results are
produced automatically, can vary between attempts and may contain
errors, artefacts or content you did not expect. We do not
guarantee any particular output, and generation times can vary.
5. Credits and the wallet
- Credits are bought in the app and paid for through our payment partner, PhonePe. The number of credits a payment buys is shown to you before you pay and is fixed at that moment.
- Credits are a prepaid licence to use paid features of the Service. They are not money, carry no interest, cannot be transferred to another account and cannot be exchanged for cash, except as set out in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
- Credits are deducted when a paid generation starts. If a generation fails for a technical reason on our side or our provider’s, the credits for it are returned to your wallet automatically.
- We may grant promotional or bonus credits. These have no cash value and may carry their own conditions or expiry, which will be shown when they are granted.
6. Subscriptions (UPI Autopay)
- Plans are sold monthly or yearly. Before you subscribe, the app shows the plan’s price, any introductory price and how long it lasts, the price after that, and the maximum amount of the UPI Autopay mandate you are asked to approve.
- Subscriptions are paid through a UPI Autopay mandate set up with PhonePe. The first payment is taken when you approve the mandate, and your subscription starts once that payment is confirmed.
- Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. Before each renewal you will receive a pre-debit notification from your UPI app or bank, at least 24 hours before the amount is debited.
- The price you agreed to applies to your subscription. If we change a plan’s price, the change applies to new subscribers; we will never debit more than the mandate limit you approved.
- You can cancel at any time in the app, or by cancelling the mandate in your UPI app. Cancelling stops all future debits; you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- If a renewal payment fails, PhonePe may retry it. You keep access for a short grace period (currently 3 days); if payment is still not received, the subscription ends.
7. Payments
All payments are in Indian Rupees and are processed by PhonePe
(PhonePe Private Limited) and the banks and UPI apps involved. We
never see or store your card number, bank login or UPI PIN. Prices
shown in the app include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
Your bank or UPI app may apply its own terms to a payment.
8. Your content and AI outputs
- You keep ownership of the photos, videos and text you upload (“Your Content”). You give us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, process and transmit Your Content — including to our AI model providers — only to provide the Service to you.
- Subject to these Terms and the terms of the underlying AI providers, you may use the images and videos you generate for personal and lawful purposes. Outputs may resemble content created for other users.
- You confirm that you have every right and permission needed for Your Content, including the consent of every person who appears in it.
- You are solely responsible for how you use, share or publish generated content.
9. Acceptable use
You must not use the Service to create, upload or share anything that:
- is illegal, or sexual or obscene, or involves any person under 18 in a sexual or exploitative way;
- depicts a real person without their consent, impersonates anyone, or is a deceptive “deepfake” meant to mislead;
- is defamatory, harassing, hateful, threatening, or promotes violence or discrimination;
- infringes anyone’s copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights;
- spreads misinformation, including about elections or public safety;
- contains malware, or attempts to hack, overload, scrape, reverse-engineer or bypass any limit or security feature of the Service.
We may remove content, refuse a generation, or suspend or close an
account that breaks these rules, and we may report unlawful content
to the authorities as required by law.
10. Our templates and intellectual property
The Service, the Statuswalla name and logo, and our templates,
designs and software belong to Studx Management Private Limited or
its licensors. Templates are licensed to you for personal,
non-commercial sharing (for example, as your WhatsApp or social
media status). You may not resell, redistribute in bulk, or use
them to build a competing service.
11. Third-party services
When you share content to WhatsApp, Instagram or another app, or
download the app from an app store, that service’s own terms and
privacy policy apply. We are not responsible for third-party
services.
12. Suspension, termination and account deletion
You can stop using the Service at any time and request deletion of
your account in the app or at
statuswalla.com/deleteuserdata. Your
account is deleted permanently 60 days after the request; signing in
again during those 60 days cancels the request. Unused credits are
forfeited on deletion, and you should cancel any active subscription
first. We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these Terms
or the law.
13. Disclaimer
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the
extent permitted by law, we make no warranty that it will be
uninterrupted, error-free, or that generated outputs will be
accurate or fit for any particular purpose.
14. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Studx Management Private Limited
will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or
consequential loss, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill. Our
total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to
the amount you paid us in the three months before the event giving
rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that
cannot be limited under Indian law.
15. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Studx Management Private Limited against
claims, losses and costs arising from Your Content, your misuse of
the Service, or your breach of these Terms or the law.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to the
grievance process below, the courts at Pune, Maharashtra have
exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms or
the Service.
17. Grievance Officer
In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the
rules made under it, complaints about content or the Service may be
sent to our Grievance Officer:
Grievance Officer, Studx Management Private Limited
108, StudX, AMC Avenue, NIBM Annexe, Opp. Raheja Vistas Phase-3,
Pune, Maharashtra 411060
Email: support@statuswalla.com
We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and aim to resolve them
within 15 days.
18. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will change the
effective date above and, for material changes, notify you in the
app or by other reasonable means. Continuing to use the Service
after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

Privacy Policy
Effective date: 23 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Studx Management Private Limited
(“Statuswalla”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares and
protects your personal data when you use the Statuswalla app and the
website statuswalla.com
(together, the “Service”). We process personal data in
accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and
the Information Technology Act, 2000, and we act as the Data
Fiduciary for the data described here.
1. Data we collect
- Account data — your mobile number and country code, which we verify by OTP, and the profile details you choose to add, such as your name, email address, gender, date of birth and profile picture.
- Your content — the photos, videos and text prompts you upload to personalise templates or generate AI content, and the images and videos generated for you.
- Payment data — for each purchase: the amount, our order reference, its status, and the transaction IDs returned by PhonePe; for subscriptions, the UPI Autopay mandate reference and its status. We do not receive your card number, bank login or UPI PIN.
- Wallet and usage data — credits bought, spent and returned; the generations you make; templates you view, download and share; your subscription and plan usage.
- Device and technical data — device identifier and name, operating system, app version, push-notification token, IP address, sign-in sessions and logs of requests to our servers.
- Support data — what you send us in a refund request, account-deletion request or email, such as your name, email address and message.
- Preferences — your notification settings.
The app asks for access to your photos, camera or storage only when
you choose content to upload or save, and for notification
permission so we can tell you when a generation is ready. You can
change these permissions in your phone’s settings at any time.
2. How we use your data
- to create and secure your account and sign you in;
- to provide templates and to generate the images and videos you ask for;
- to process payments, credit your wallet, and run and renew subscriptions;
- to send service notifications — for example, that a generation is ready, a payment succeeded or a renewal is due — and, where you allow it, festival reminders and offers;
- to answer support, refund and deletion requests;
- to prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our Terms, and keep the Service secure;
- to understand, in aggregate, how the Service is used so we can improve it;
- to comply with legal, tax and accounting obligations.
We process your data on the basis of your consent, given when you
sign up and use features, and for the legitimate uses permitted by
law, such as complying with legal obligations. We do
not sell your personal data, and we do not use
your photos to train AI models.
3. Who we share data with
We share personal data only with service providers that help us run the Service, and only as much as each needs:
- PhonePe (PhonePe Private Limited) — payment processing and UPI Autopay subscriptions.
- Google Firebase — OTP sign-in and push notifications.
- Amazon Web Services — hosting, databases and file storage, in the Mumbai (India) region.
- AI model providers — BytePlus (Seedance, Seedream and DreamActor models) and Google (Gemini), which receive the photos, clips and prompts you submit for a generation, and AIHubMix, which may receive your text prompt to improve it. They process this data to return your result.
- Email service providers — to send transactional emails.
- Authorities — where required by law, a court order or a lawful government request, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the public.
- A successor business — if Statuswalla is merged, acquired or reorganised, subject to this Privacy Policy.
When you share content to WhatsApp, Instagram or any other app, that
app receives it under its own privacy policy.
4. Transfers outside India
Some of our providers, including AI model providers, may process
data on servers outside India. Where this happens, we transfer only
what is necessary to provide the Service, to countries not
restricted by the Government of India, and with contractual
safeguards in place.
5. How long we keep data
- Account data and your content are kept while your account is active.
- When you request deletion, your account is deleted permanently 60 days later, together with your profile, uploads, generated content and wallet. Signing in again during those 60 days cancels the request.
- Payment and invoice records are kept for as long as tax and accounting laws require (generally up to 8 years), even after the account is deleted.
- Server logs are kept for a limited period for security and troubleshooting.
6. Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you have the right to:
- obtain a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it is processed;
- have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected and updated;
- have your data erased — in the app, at statuswalla.com/deleteuserdata, or by emailing us;
- withdraw your consent at any time (this does not affect processing already done, and some features may stop working);
- nominate another person to exercise these rights in the event of your death or incapacity;
- have your grievances addressed by our Grievance Officer, and, if unresolved, approach the Data Protection Board of India.
To exercise any right, email
support@statuswalla.com
from, or quoting, your registered mobile number. We may need to
verify your identity first.
7. Children
The Service is not intended for children under 18. We do not
knowingly collect personal data from children without verifiable
parental consent. If you believe a child has given us personal
data, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Security
We use reasonable security safeguards, including encryption in
transit (HTTPS), encrypted storage of payment credentials, access
controls and token-based authentication. No system is perfectly
secure, so please keep your phone and OTPs safe. If a personal data
breach affects you, we will notify you and the authorities as the
law requires.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. We will change the effective
date above and, for material changes, tell you in the app before
they take effect.

Refund & Cancellation Policy
Effective date: 23 October 2026
This policy applies to every payment made in the Statuswalla app —
wallet credit top-ups and subscription plans. Statuswalla is
operated by Studx Management Private Limited, and all payments are
processed by our payment partner, PhonePe.
1. Delivery of what you buy
Statuswalla sells only digital services; nothing is shipped.
Credits are added to your wallet as soon as PhonePe confirms your
payment, usually within seconds. A subscription is activated as
soon as you approve the UPI Autopay mandate and the first payment
is confirmed. If money has left your account but your credits or
subscription do not appear within 24 hours, contact us (section 6)
and we will credit your account or refund you in full.
2. Wallet credits
- Failed generations: if a paid generation fails for a technical reason, its credits are returned to your wallet automatically. This is a return of credits, not a refund to your bank account.
- Payment taken, credits not delivered: full refund to your original payment method, or the credits delivered, at your choice.
- Duplicate or wrong charge: full refund of the extra amount.
- Unused credits: credits that have been delivered are generally non-refundable. If you have not used any of the credits from a purchase, you may ask for a refund within 7 days of buying them; we review each request and approve it where it is fair to do so.
- Credits that have been spent, and promotional or bonus credits, are not refundable.
3. Subscriptions
- Cancel anytime: from the subscription section of the app, or by cancelling the UPI Autopay mandate in your UPI app. Cancelling stops every future debit immediately.
- Access after cancelling: you keep your plan’s benefits until the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not refund part of a period already started.
- Notice before every renewal: you receive a pre-debit notification at least 24 hours before each renewal is debited, so you can cancel beforehand if you wish.
- Charged after cancelling: if a renewal is debited after you cancelled, we refund it in full.
- Failed renewals: PhonePe may retry a failed renewal. Your access continues for a 3-day grace period; if payment is still not received, the subscription ends and nothing further is charged.
- Accidental subscription: if you subscribed by mistake and have not used any paid benefit, write to us within 48 hours of the first payment and we will refund it.
4. How refunds are paid
Approved refunds are made to the original payment method through
PhonePe. They are initiated within 2 working days of approval and
usually reach your account within 5–7 working days, depending on
your bank or UPI app. We do not refund in cash or to a different
account.
5. Timelines
We acknowledge every refund request within 2 working days and give
you a decision within 7 working days.
6. How to ask for a refund
Use the refund request option in the app’s wallet section, or email
support@statuswalla.com
with:
- your registered mobile number;
- the order reference (it starts with “SW”), or the date and amount of the payment;
- the PhonePe or UPI transaction ID, if you have it; and
- a short description of the problem.
7. Payment disputes
Please contact us before raising a dispute or chargeback with your
bank or UPI app — we can usually resolve it faster. If a dispute is
raised, we may pause the related credits or subscription while it
is investigated.
